The Google Scholar extension permits users to quickly search for scholarly articles while using their browser. This feature will generate the three top search results, but if they wish to see more, they may simply use the expand button and it will open the search in a new tab, showing all possible search results. Using this feature does not guarantee the user will be permitted to access the article, but Google Scholar can recall their institution/affiliation and open articles with their permitted access if applicable.

LastPass allows users to save their usernames and passwords, addresses, credit card information, bank accounts, driver’s licenses, passports, social security numbers, and Wi-Fi passports through a LastPass account. The user can also generate new passwords with the extension. The information saved can be used to automatically fill out login information or forms.

LeechBlock NG (Next Generation) is a free and easy to use productivity tool that will block social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and more. The extension will allow users to block select websites. Users can schedule when the sites will be blocked.

The Mercury Reader extension is a simple extension that minimizes distractions by removing adds, links and other unwanted content. It displays only text and images at the click of a button.

Nimbus Screenshot & Screen Video Recorder allows the user to take a picture or record a video of their screen. The user can take a picture of what is visible on the webpage, a fragment of the webpage, an area of the webpage, a delayed screenshot, a picture of the user’s desktop, or record a video of what is on-screen. Additional settings allow the user to save the image as PNG or JPG, change how the screenshots and videos are named, change screenshot and video settings, and add a watermark as an image or text.

Similar to Evernote clipper, this extension allows students to easily clip quotes, annotate and highlight text on a page and more. It is also possible to clip photos, videos, PDFs and more. Access these clippings through OneNote. OneNote is part of the Microsoft Suite of products which is available to any student whose school uses Microsoft products or software.

Online Notepad is note taking extension. Users can upload text files from their computer or start a new note at the click of a button.

A simple extension that will change the text to the open dyslexic font. This font will thicken parts of each letter to make it easier to read. The extension is easy to turn on and off and change font format from regular, bold and italics. Like many extensions, font change does not work when inputting text including Google drive and when writing emails.
